Local residents expressed their approval when the clock that was recently removed from outside the LS premises for refurbishment, was re-instated this week. The clock was originally installed as part of a tribute by employees of Laurence Scott Ltd to "their fellow workmen who gallantly gave their lives" in the Great War (1914-1918). The tablet on the wall beneath the clock lists the names of 33 workers. The clock was manufactured by John Smith and Sons of Derby
