Position: High Voltage Test Engineer
Reporting To: Chief Test Engineer

Description/Responsibilites
The successful candidate will be qualified to HND (minimum), come from a high voltage testing/engineering background (up to 13.8 kV) and have a proven record in working in a small team.

The following responsibilities of the position are intended as the main areas of responsibility and control but are not considered to be exhaustive. The position should also be considered to cover any reasonable request or requirement to ensure the smooth running of the company.

  1. To be fully conversant with the operation of the test bed facilities and methods of operation and safe shut down.
  2. To be fully conversant with the company’s High Voltage product range and test requirements.
  3. To connect, test and evaluate the full range of High Voltage Products
  4. To undertake where practical a range of fitting requirements necessary to maintain the smooth flow of work through the test bed. This to exclude the loading, aligning and unloading of large machines where fitters are essential.
  5. When responsibility is delegated, to ensure test equipment for individual contracts is available in a timely manner and that measuring equipment is kept in serviceable condition.
  6. To advise through line management of any perceived problems to test requirements and advise necessary courses of action.
  7. Report through line management on progress of items and advise actions to rectify any deficiencies, liasing with other departments as needed.
  8. To maintain test specifications and records as required.
  9. To conduct customer witness testing ensuring safety at all times.
  10. Ensure Health and Safety procedures and good housekeeping are adhered to at all times.
  11. To work the hours necessary to carry out test bed duties.
  12. To undertake any other reasonable task associated with the smooth running of ATB LS when asked to do so by senior management.
